Senior Mechanical Engineer - Medical Devices About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of innovative medical devices that improve patient outcomes. In this role, you'll own mechanical design efforts from concept through commercialization and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across engineering, regulatory, and manufacturing. What You'll Do

+ Lead mechanical design and development of medical devices from concept through production

+ Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and tolerance analyses using Solid Works

+ Partner cross-functionally with electrical, software, quality, and manufacturing teams

+ Select materials and manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, etc.)

+ Plan and execute design verification and validation testing

+ Drive risk management activities (e.g., FMEA)

+ Support design transfer to manufacturing and supplier engagement

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)

+ ~7+ years of experience in mechanical design

+ Experience designing complex mechanical systems or components

+ Proficiency with Solid Works or similar CAD tools

+

Experience with DFM/DFA and common manufacturing processes

+ Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience in medical device development or other regulated industry

+ Familiarity with FDA, ISO, or IEC standards

+

Experience with design verification and validation testing

+ Hands-on prototyping and lab testing experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
