Building Automation System Specialist
As a Building Automation System Specialist, you will primarily perform and develop sequence testing, project graphics, and point-to-point verification to ensure the system runs as efficiently as possible.
Responsibilities- Sequence Testing: Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications, detect and locate malfunctions, and ensure proper installation of components.
- Point to Point Verification: Test components for proper functioning; diagnose, analyze performance, set up and operate standard or specialized testing equipment, and ensure sensor location and functionality.
- Project Graphics: Create images for wirings, designs, or system dashboards; present designs and reports to customers or design engineers; design images/maps of controlled systems within a building.
- Repairs/Service: Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts; discuss system malfunctions with users to isolate problems; recommend preventive or general maintenance procedures such as cleaning, tightening terminals, or vacuuming control panels.
- Adjustments: Adjust system controls to settings recommended by the manufacturer to balance the system; adjust equipment such as thermostats for optimal performance.
- Documentation: Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, or other occurrences on work orders; complete customer service and expense reports; compile job documentation such as certificates of completion and punch lists.
- Training: Instruct individuals on the proper and efficient operation of tools and equipment; guide individuals through work tasks; suggest new ways to improve efficiency and quality.
- Associate’s degree preferred in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working with Building Automation Systems.
- At least 2 years of basic understanding of mechanical systems and how they operate.
- At least 2 years of basic understanding of building system engineering, technology, and construction materials and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.

- Pay Range: $30.35 – $45.53 per hour (varies by candidate).
