Job Description & How to Apply Below

Overview

This role is part of a team that plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency, standardization, and performance improvement. It merges industrial engineering principles with process engineering methodologies to improve productivity, reduce waste, enhance workflows, and enable scalable industrialized construction practices. The position supports continuous improvement efforts across the project lifecycle—from design and coordination, through fabrication and modularization, to installation—while enabling technology adoption, process reliability, and data‑driven operational decision‑making.

Responsibilities
  • Industrial Process Engineering:
Facilitate structured mapping of current workflows across the project lifecycle; leverage Lean and/or Six Sigma to identify systemic gaps, inefficiencies, waste, and bottlenecks; work with stakeholders to define future‑state processes, workflows, and requirements; build actionable implementation plans (scope, timelines, KPIs, resources, risks); lead rollout and adoption of new workflows, SOPs, and processes.
  • Manufacturing Systems Optimization:
Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow optimization for multiple fabrication facilities; apply Lean and Six Sigma techniques to streamline processes and reduce waste; analyze labor, materials, throughput, and system performance to drive measurable operational improvements; design or improve the physical layout of facilities to reduce travel, improve safety, and maximize efficiency; collaborate on root cause analyses, reduce scrap and rework, and standardize processes.
  • Documentation:
Write and maintain workflows, processes, work instructions, SOPs, project artifacts, and training materials to ensure consistency and scalability.
  • Process Simulation and Digital Modeling:
Use discrete‑event simulation and process‑modeling to model fabrication, logistics, and warehouse operations; run scenario analyses to assess capacity constraints, sequencing strategies, labor needs, and flow optimization; present simulation findings to enable data‑driven decisions about process improvements.
  • Knowledge of Machinery, Software, and Integrated Systems:
Maintain a working understanding of machinery, software platforms, and digital tools across the project lifecycle; identify process gaps, improve system handoffs, and ensure workflows align with real‑world tool behavior.
  • Bridge between Operations and Technology:
Serve as a bridge between operations and technology teams, ensuring processes address both human and system factors.
  • Continuing

    Education:

Attend seminars, trade shows, industry publications, certifications, etc., to stay current on project management, process improvement, and change management methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in industrial engineering, construction, technology, or related field, OR equivalent trade experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, construction, technology, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of construction industry experience.
  • 3+ years in pre‑fabrication or manufacturing.
  • 2+ years evaluating and improving processes.
  • 2+ years analyzing emerging trends and recommending solutions.
  • Ability to travel 20‑30% of time.
  • Knowledge of construction and fabrication tools, techniques, and processes.
  • Understanding of construction project lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of advanced work packages preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent preferred.
Benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Vacation time, sick time, and paid holidays.
  • Paid parental leave.
