** Attention Applicants:
** This vacancy is being announced at two different job classes at the same time. Engineer Senior and Engineer 2 Graduate. Only one position will be filled; the final class and starting salary of this position is dependent on the successful applicant's qualifications.
This position is located at the Waters' Edge Building in Roseville and may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
** The purpose of this position is to act as the liaison for all traffic engineering concerns, for internal and external customers in the South Metro Area. This position provides expert technical guidance to internal staff, external partners, and the public. Responsibilities include supporting project scoping and layout development, conducting corridor studies, identifying safety needs, programming safety projects, and responding to public inquiries.
The role also includes serving as the district's lead expert in one specialty area:
Tort Claims, Speed Zoning, Crash Analysis, or Safety Projects.*

** Minimum Qualifications*
* ** To qualify as an Engineer Senior, applicants must meet all the following:*
* + Licensure as a professional engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity. (If obtaining licensure through reciprocity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
+ Engineering experience related to roadways
** Minimum Qualifications for Engineer 2 Graduate:*
* To qualify as an Engineer 2 Graduate, applicants must meet all the following:
+ A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university; and two years post-graduation civil engineering work;
** OR*
* + A Master's degree in Civil from an ABET accredited college/university; and one year of post-graduation civil engineering work.
** AND*
* + A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Experience coordinating with cities, counties, consultants, FHWA, and the public.
+ Demonstrated experience in Traffic Engineering to include traffic safety analysis.
