Industrial Scheduler

The Industrial Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining and optimizing project schedules for heavy industrial and design-build projects. This role ensures integrated, realistic and achievable timelines across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning phases; identifies critical path activities and risks; and works closely with project controls, project managers, contractors and stakeholders to drive on-time project delivery using Primavera P6/PSP and lean construction principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and update detailed baseline and working schedules using Primavera P6 and PSP for industrial and design-build projects.
• Integrate schedules from multiple disciplines (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning) to create a consolidated project schedule and identify interfaces and constraints.
• Perform critical path analysis, float management and schedule optimization to drive timely project execution and recovery plans where necessary.
• Monitor progress, analyze schedule variance, produce schedule forecasts and provide regular schedule reports and presentations to project leadership and stakeholders.
• Evaluate schedule impacts of scope changes, delays and claims; prepare time impact analyses and support change management and claims documentation.
• Coordinate closely with project controls, cost engineers and planners to ensure alignment of schedule and cost data and maintain schedule integrity in the project control system.
• Implement lean construction techniques to identify and remove waste, improve workflow, and enhance sequence and productivity on-site.
• Facilitate schedule coordination meetings, pull-planning sessions and workshops with contractors and trades to maintain alignment and resolve conflicts.
• Provide training and guidance to project teams and contractors on scheduling tools, best practices and schedule compliance requirements.
• Support commissioning and handover planning to ensure timely readiness and minimize start-up risks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of scheduling experience on heavy industrial, energy, petrochemical or large infrastructure projects; experience with design-build delivery preferred.
• Proven expertise with Primavera P6 and PSP; experience with project controls systems and schedule integration tools.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling principles, critical path method (CPM), resource loading, and schedule risk analysis.
• Familiarity with lean construction methods, pull planning and continuous improvement practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret schedule data, identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills and experience leading coordination meetings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools; experience with MS Project, Power BI or similar tools is a plus.
• Professional certifications such as PMI-SP, PSP (Primavera Scheduling Professional) or PMP are advantageous.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment, manage multiple priorities and travel to project sites as required.
