The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Product Engineer in Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Expanding product and process understanding for assigned products and new product development.
- Leading product changes and supporting process changes. Ensuring they are carried out with full knowledge of the implications and according to change control procedures
- Driving new product scale-up and product characterization phase, working closely with the manufacturing teams.
- Creating, reviewing, approving and owning product standards and test methods to support customer or new product development requirements. Driving common product standards across global sites, working with product support teams in other regions
- Assisting the plants with complaint resolution and reduction projects as needed. Using root cause analysis to identify failure modes
Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- 7 years of combined product, materials, and/or process engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree or higher with four (4) years of combined product, materials, and/or process engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Four (4) years of pressure sensitive adhesive experience with formulating, developing or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment
- Experience in statistical analysis and utilizing statistical tools
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)
- Experience collaborating with production or enterprise supply chain teams
Work location:
- This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
