The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Central Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Supporting the Project Manager in identifying the most cost-effective technical solutions and driving estimate, schedule, and change management processes
• Leading and coordinating all technical project work, including front-end engineering and design activities, to ensure robust, safe solutions
• Defining Basis of Design (BOD) and Engineering package deliverables
• Specifying major equipment and overseeing the development of Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT), and start-up/commissioning plans
• Maintaining effective communication and alignment with the project team and project owners throughout project execution
• Driving compliance by understanding applicable codes and guidelines to ensure designs meet EHS standards

Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start)
• Seven (7) years of capital project management experience and involvement in developing technical design and construction packages in a private, public, government or military environment
• Current, valid Driver's License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical engineering degree
• Track record of successful project execution in a stage gate capital deployment model
• Prior experience with webline, converting, automation, and/or discrete part handling equipment

Work location:

• This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Travel:
May include up 25% domestic

Relocation:
May be authorized

The expected compensation range for this position is $145,676 - $178,049, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
