OVERVIEW
The Civil Engineering department in the College of Engineering invites applications for a full‑time Clinical Faculty position with a focus on Water Resources Engineering to begin in the Fall semester 2027. This teaching‑focused appointment is for an educator and practitioner who is passionate about preparing the next generation of civil engineers through high‑quality instruction, mentorship, and engagement with professional practice.
The successful candidate will primarily support the undergraduate curriculum in water resources, fluid mechanics, and related civil engineering areas. They will advise and mentor students at all undergraduate levels toward the successful completion of their degree and help them develop career readiness. The candidate will participate in departmental meetings, faculty development programs, and professional organizations to stay connected with industry advancements.
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Qualifications:
- PhD (U.S. or foreign equivalent degree) in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; a combination of a master’s degree and 5 years of relevant industry experience may be substituted for the PhD.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and student engagement.
- Academic preparation and/or professional expertise in water resources engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
- Professional experience in consulting, government agencies, utilities, or related water resources engineering practice.
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
- Interest in project‑based learning, capstone design, or professional skills development.
- Experience incorporating engineering practice into educational settings.

The salary range for this position is $70,500 to $105,000.
