Hardware Engineer

Responsibilities

As a member of Apple’s Hardware Engineering team, you will work with architects across the company on custom silicon and device innovations including battery, application processors, power regulators, sensor silicon, display silicon, and other chipsets.

  • RTL Design: Design and validate cutting‑edge power logic RTL circuits; responsibilities include front‑end pre‑silicon, RTL coding, low‑power design, timing, power analysis, and C/C++ simulation.
  • RTL Verification: Lead verification effort in cooperation with design, CAD, timing, and synthesis teams; drive RTL functional coverage, low‑power verification, and timing analysis.
  • Simulation Design: Develop code for test harness and runtime graphics for GPUs, CPUs, SoCs, and subsystems using C++, SystemC, and Python.
  • Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) Engineer: Maintain chip‑level CAD methodology, work with VLSI and CAD groups, and evaluate major layout issues.
  • RF and Signal Integrity Designer: Solve cross‑disciplinary RF and signal‑integrity issues, design power‑management and low‑noise circuits, and address multi‑radio interactions.
  • Embedded Software Engineer: Create, port, and maintain firmware for large‑scale SoC testing, Linux device drivers, and low‑level code, using C/C++ and Python.
  • Power/Battery Specialist: Develop electronic circuit programs for battery and power‑management modules; experience with I2C, SPI, UART, and related interfaces.
  • IC Packaging Designer: Design high‑level packaging solutions, enforce design rules, and conduct trace, timing, and reliability analysis.
  • Silicon Verification Lead: Plan and execute silicon‑level verification, troubleshoot test equipment, and improve performance across silicon releases.
  • Stage Designer: Build FPGA and ASIC models, perform functional verification, and write test scripts in Verilog, C/C++, and Python.
  • Custom Circuit Designer: Develop advanced circuit blocks, support logic compilation, and use ML for chip design optimization.
Qualifications
  • Past internship or project experience in PC/VLSI, logical, reasoning, or circuit design.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with cross‑disciplinary teams.
  • Experience with C/C++, Verilog/VHDL, Python, Perl, and test frameworks.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
  • Expected graduation with a bachelor’s degree by September
    2023.
