Senior Mechanical Engineer – Medical Device Development

We're looking for an experienced engineer who enjoys hands‑on product development, technical leadership, and bringing innovative ideas to life.
What You’ll Do:Lead the design and development of mechanical and electromechanical medical device systems from concept through production.
Create 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, assemblies, and engineering documentation using Solid Works or similar tools.
Develop and evaluate prototypes, perform testing, analyze results, and implement design improvements.
Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and other engineering teams to ensure successful product development and transfer to production.
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM), tolerance analysis, and engineering best practices to optimize product performance and reliability.
Support verification and validation activities, including development of test methods, protocols, and reports.
Drive technical problem‑solving efforts and root‑cause investigations for complex engineering challenges.
Lead technical projects or key subsystems, managing priorities, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and promoting engineering excellence.
Communicate technical concepts, project updates, and design recommendations to internal stakeholders and customers.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
6+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product development, or related engineering disciplines.
Strong experience designing mechanical systems and components using Solid Works or similar 3D CAD software.
Hands‑on experience with prototyping, testing, and design verification.
Experience working with cross‑functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
Strong problem‑solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Experience developing medical devices, particularly within regulated environments.
Experience with Class II and/or Class III medical devices.
Experience developing electromechanical products or systems.
Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack‑up analysis, and engineering design controls.
Experience leading technical projects or mentoring engineers.
Knowledge of medical device regulations, quality systems, or design control processes.
This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $ - $/yr.
The expected starting salary for this position is $100,000 to $135,000 depending on qualifications. As part of your overall rewards, we offer a comprehensive benefits program. We offer health, dental, vision, 401K plans, and time off programs. You may also be eligible to participate in an annual bonus program which depends on various factors, including, individual and organizational performance.
