Building Automation Field Service Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a Field Service Technician or Engineer with exposure to building controls or building automation. This role involves working with an aftermarket team to provide services after the installation of products. The individual will solve complex system problems, potentially lead others in resolving issues, and communicate effectively with clients while troubleshooting. Additionally, the role requires scheduling, working with the team on necessary modifications, and providing clients with additional services or maintenance recommendations.
Responsibilities
+ Lead commissioning and optimization of advanced systems for HVAC, lighting, and energy.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and integration issues across multiple platforms such as WebCTRL®, Niagara, Schneider, and Honeywell.
+ Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, or Lon Works.
+ Configure controls, trends, alarms, and reports; manage secure network connections.
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
+ Deliver customer training and ensure systems perform exactly as promised.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a technical field.
+ Proficiency with advanced building automation software such as WebCTRL.
+ Experience in installing building automation controls.
+ Ability to navigate and integrate various building automation systems.
+ Expertise in TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.
+ Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
+ Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree, or Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
+ Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges across multiple disciplines.
+ Ability to work well in a team environment.
Work Environment
This position is based in the Twin Cities area with an office located in St. Paul, off of 280 and University. The role involves frequent local travel to different client sites, requiring comfort with client interaction and being onsite. The majority of the day will be spent working with client staff to troubleshoot and solve problems, as well as suggesting various services and preventative options.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
