Must Have
  • Knowledge of Electrochemistry
  • Understanding of materials and their interactions with the body and environment
  • Ability to correlate material properties with product performance to predict various failure modes
  • Lab work experience
Nice to Have
  • Deep knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices
  • Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, gas chromatography (GC), PCR, spectrophotometry
  • Knowledge and experience of Materials Characterization Techniques

Main Responsibilities / Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Conduct laboratory testing, materials characterization, and failure analysis to support product development and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical solutions and business objectives
  • Review technical documentation and extract critical information needed

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Analyze, research, design, and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems, and subsystems.
  • Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, nonmetallic, and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication, and assembly processes.
  • Develop, analyze, and apply material properties and design allowables, processing processes, and quality engineering specifications.
  • Conduct material analyses, including failure analysis of components, systems, and subsystems, life predictions, and definition and requirement specifications.
  • Review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.

This role typically requires a University Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 0 years of experience.
