CAD Drafter
This position involves designing and detailing miscellaneous metals for commercial construction projects. The role requires a strong background in detailing staircases, railings, light structural elements, and working with aluminum and carbon steel. Experience in design is essential as we often engage in design-build contracts. Proficiency in AutoCAD is required, and 3D modeling experience is appreciated but not mandatory.
Responsibilities- Create technical shop fabrication and field erection drawings based on architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
- Visit job sites to obtain field dimensions and assess construction conditions.
- Collaborate with field erectors to solve problems.
- Assist shop fabricators with drawing information as needed.
- Maintain an organized drawing and job file system, tracking drawings through approval and production stages.
- Experience in Architectural/Commercial Construction.
- Proficient in detailing stairs, light structural elements, and metal fabrication.
- Ability to create shop drawings in 2D using AutoCAD 14 or 15.
- Familiarity with using Adobe to convert DWG to PDF for electronic transfer.
- Operational knowledge of Windows 10 systems.
- Capability to handle multiple jobs and meet deadlines.
Skills & Qualifications
- Sufficient computer knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues independently.
- 3D modeling experience is a plus.
This is an onsite position in a fabrication shop environment when not drafting. The position offers the opportunity to work on large projects visible throughout the metro area. The role provides a long tenure and the chance to see your work come to life in substantial projects.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
