This role requires hands‑on proficiency with Cimatron for mold design, core/cavity development, and CNC toolpath generation, along with a strong understanding of mold making principles, plastic part design, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design injection molds (single and multi‑cavity, family molds, hot runner and cold runner systems) using Cimatron
  • Perform core/cavity splits, parting line development, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews on customer part models
  • Generate detailed mold component drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation
  • Develop CNC toolpaths within Cimatron for mold base and insert machining
  • Collaborate with tooling engineers, mold makers, and process engineers to resolve design and fit issues during build and tryout
  • Incorporate ejection systems, cooling layouts, gating, and venting into mold designs
  • Review and interpret customer-supplied CAD data (Solid Works, Creo, CATIA, NX) and translate into moldable geometry
  • Support mold sampling, first-article inspection, and design revisions based on tryout results
  • Maintain design standards, mold base libraries, and component databases within Cimatron
  • Estimate design and build timelines for quoting purposes
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of mold design experience in an injection molding or mold making environment
  • Proficiency in Cimatron (mold design and/or CAM modules) required
  • Strong understanding of plastic materials, shrinkage, and part design principles
  • Experience with core/cavity design, hot runner systems, and standard mold components (DME, Progressive, Hasco, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Familiarity with GD&T
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Tool & Die, Mold Design, or Mechanical Design
