This position is located at district headquarters in Roseville and may have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule that includes in office and teleworking time. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
Note to applicants: The vacancy for this position is a Transportation Program Specialist 2. The posting is being announced at two different classes at the same time, Transportation Program Specialist 1 and 2. If the position is not filled at the Transportation Specialist 2 level, it may be filled at the Transportation Specialist 1 level.
This position will provide data collection, technical analysis, and document preparation of federal and state environmental documents for the MnDOT Metro District Project Controls Group.
** Minimum Qualifications*
* ** Minimum Qualifications at the Transportation Program Specialist 2 level are as follows:*
* Two (2) years of professional experience; OR a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental/Natural Resources Studies/Science, Transportation Planning or Engineering, or other related degree plus one (1) year of professional experience that demonstrates the following.
+ Experience writing technical documents related to environmental topics sufficient to communicate technical information related to engineering principles; environmental resource rules, regulations, and impacts; and state and federal regulations, policies and practices related to the environmental documentation processes.
+ Ability to independently and sufficiently complete state and federal environmental documents of low to moderate complexity.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office software such as Microsoft Excel and Word to organize text, tables and data.
+ Application of practices and methods of information/data collection.
+ Ability to collect, organize, and accurately summarize information and technical data.
+ Experience writing or assisting with preparation of technical documents that communicate engineering, natural resources, and government agency requirements.
