Job Summary:

The Operations Finance Manager is responsible for supporting accounting and reporting functions within manufacturing, engineering, and logistics for the Capital Systems business. This role is a key finance partner for operations to problem solving accounting and finance challenges as they arise including, but not limited to manufacturing costing, profitability analysis, and analyzing and reporting on trends, variances, deviations from budget and forecast.

Job Duties and Responsabilities:

  • Operations FP&A & Performance Management
  • Lead theannual operating plan (AOP)andmonthly/quarterly forecastsfor COGS, manufacturing variances, absorption, labor productivity, yield/scrap, freight, and overhead.
  • Develop and maintainstandard reporting packages(month-end ops review, KPI dashboards).
  • Builddriver-based modelsfor throughput, OEE, capacity utilization, and labor efficiency; translate ops metrics into financial impact.
  • Provide financial leadership oncontinuous improvementinitiatives; quantify savings and ensure controlled realization to P&L.
  • Plant Finance, Cost Accounting & Inventory Control
  • Overseeinventory valuationand integrity (cycle counts, physicals, reserves, obsolescence, slow-moving analysis).
  • Ensure accurate and timelyWIP accountingfor engineered-to-order/project-driven builds; reconcile WIP subledgers to GL.
  • Coordinate and leadphysical inventoryand/or cycle count programs, drive count accuracy and compliance.
  • Controllership, Compliance & Close
  • Ownplant-level monthly closefor COGS, inventory, capitalization of variances, and accruals
  • Ensure adherence toUS GAAP/IFRS(as applicable), internal controls, delegation of authority, and company accounting policy.
  • Managebalance sheet reconciliations(inventory, WIP, accruals) and resolve reconciling items promptly.
  • Supportinternal/external auditsand drive remediation of findings; maintain robust process documentation and controls testing.
  • EnforceCap Ex governance: policy adherence, approvals, project accounting, capitalization criteria, asset tagging, and disposals.
  • Capital & Project Finance
  • Build financial cases forCap Ex(ROI, IRR, NPV, payback); validate assumptions (throughput, scrap reduction, labor avoidance, maintenance savings).
  • TrackCap Ex spend vs. budget, commissioning timelines, andbenefits realizationto P&L; escalate risks and variances.
  • SupportNPI/NPDand engineering initiatives with cost modeling, make-vs-buy, and lifecycle margin impacts.
  • Supply Chain & Procurement Finance
  • Partner with supply chain to track and forecast raw material cost inflation
  • Analyze inbound/outboundfreight & logisticscost drivers; recommend mode-optimization and footprint changes.
  • Business Partnering & Leadership
  • Serve as thefinance business partnerto the Capital Systems and D&E leader
  • Coach operations leaders on financial literacy; translate financials into operational action plans.
  • Manage and mentor cost accountant.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.

    A./B.S.) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other analytical business degree from four-year college or university or equivalent work experience.
  • CPA or CMA preferred, but not required

Experience:

  • 8-10 years of public accounting and/or industry experience that includes financial analysis and US GAAP
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge ofstandard costing, inventory accounting, and GAAP; exposure toproject/WIP accountinga plus .

Skills:

  • Technology - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & PowerPoint; very strong Excel. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Exposure to Epicore and Planful a plus
