Lead Actuary – Reinsurance Lead Actuary – Saint Paul, MN.
Responsibilities- Structure and execute reinsurance opportunities, focusing on affiliated offshore reinsurance transactions.
- Oversee all actuarial functions for successful reinsurance execution, including valuation, IT integration, reporting, and pricing.
- Direct teams responsible for building and running all actuarial, pricing, and solvency reporting under regulatory bases such as Bermuda EBS/SFS and USGAAP.
- Support pricing and structuring of ceded reinsurance transactions, ensuring alignment with company strategy.
- Liaise across data, assumption setting, underwriting, pricing, valuation, solvency functions, and supporting teams.
- Lead the management of relationships with external service providers, ensuring integration of necessary technology and capabilities.
- Manage and develop the actuarial team and lead appropriate management committees.
- Track progress, manage risks, and keep key stakeholders informed of status and expected outcomes.
- Serve as liaison with regulatory or legal bodies on actuarial and pricing matters, including securing required approvals.
- Maintain a robust risk and control framework, governance of model risk management, and overall actuarial oversight.
- Fellowship in a recognized actuarial body (e.g., SOA, CAS, IFoA).
- 10+ years of actuarial experience in insurance and reinsurance.
- Experience designing and executing on various onshore and offshore reinsurance strategies.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Bermuda EBS and USGAAP.
- Proven leadership and team‑management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- High analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Comfortable with quarterly international business travel.
This position will be in a hybrid working arrangement. Employees within a 90‑minute commute will join the office three days each week while working primarily from home.
CompensationEstimated base pay range: $–$. Pay may vary depending on experience and related factors.
