Senior Tax Specialist - Federal

Responsibilities

• Prepare, compile, and process moderately complex federal tax returns, supporting schedules, forms, and worksheets.
• Analyze and maintain tax records and perform account reconciliations.
• Research tax issues and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Work on special projects and assist less experienced staff.
• Contribute to analysis of tax provisions, business changes, and corporate restructuring; make recommendations and perform complex research.
• Utilize tools and internal systems to support tax calculations, tax payments, and related journal entries.
• Extract and analyze data from internal systems, Statutory Annual Statement, and other financial documents.
• Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies.
• Assist on tax audits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Advanced degree in taxation and/or CPA designation.
• Three years of relevant corporate tax experience or two years of public accounting tax experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks independently and as a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and tax software such as Corptax.
• Intermediate knowledge of tax concepts.
• Ability to think strategically and use judgment to resolve issues.
