Responsibilities
- Prepare, compile, and process moderately complex federal tax returns, supporting schedules, forms, and worksheets.
- Analyze and maintain tax records and perform account reconciliations.
- Research tax issues and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Work on special projects and assist less experienced staff.
- Contribute to analysis of tax provisions, business changes, and corporate restructuring; make recommendations and perform complex research.
- Utilize tools and internal systems to support tax calculations, tax payments, and related journal entries.
- Extract and analyze data from internal systems, Statutory Annual Statement, and other financial documents.
- Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies.
- Assist on tax audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Advanced degree in taxation and/or CPA designation.
- Three years of relevant corporate tax experience or two years of public accounting tax experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple tasks independently and as a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and tax software such as Corptax.
- Intermediate knowledge of tax concepts.
- Ability to think strategically and use judgment to resolve issues.
