There are three vacancies for Financial Management Analyst Principal - two vacancies in the Finance department (Principal Financial Management Analyst) and one in Health and Wellness (Financial Planning & Budget Analyst).
The Principal Financial Management Analyst (PFMA) positions within the Finance team will play an integral role in developing the Ramsey County biennial budget. PFMAs are the primary point of contact within the Finance team for departments on budgetary matters. PFMAs work closely with the Deputy Director of Finance, departments, and controllers to make budget recommendations and ensure the budget is reflective of Ramsey County priorities.
Exploring the intersection between finance and policy is fundamental to the role of a PFMA. In this role, you will be on a team of five PFMAs under the leadership of the Deputy Director of Finance / Budget Director.

The Financial Planning & Budget Analyst for the Health and Wellness Service Team plays a pivotal role in driving fiscal health and strategic growth. Working directly with the Controller, this position assists in developing and managing comprehensive service team budgets while preparing accurate financial projections. Through focused fiscal and financial planning analysis, the Analyst transforms complex data into clear, data-driven insights.
These contributions empower service teams, ensure accurate budgeting, and support high-level strategic planning and long-range financial decision-making across the organization.

To review and analyze financial activities for one or more service teams to ensure compliance with legal guidelines and establish fiscal procedures; to advise departments concerning finance office practices; to prepare fiscal reports as necessary; and to perform related duties as assigned.
Flexible WorkplaceThis position is identified under the designation of ‘flex work eligible’, meaning that the employee can formally opt to be in-office full-time or work a flex schedule in which at least two-days per week are performed in office and other days can be performed in a remote‑first environment. Regardless of selection, the position carries expectations regarding on-site responsibilities and will require schedule flexibility beyond the minimum expectations set forth in the county’s flexible workplace policy.
