Director of Operations

A Minnesota bank is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead and oversee the bank's core operational functions, including deposit operations, loan operations, payment systems (ACH and wire transfers), debit card management, and treasury management. This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous process improvement across all operational areas. The ideal candidate brings deep subject-matter expertise in bank operations, strong people-leadership skills, and a track record of building scalable, well-controlled processes in a regulated banking environment.

• Direct and oversee day-to-day operations across deposit operations, loan operations, ACH and wire transfer processing, debit card management, and treasury management functions.
• Serve as the bank's subject-matter expert on payment systems, including ACH origination and receipt, domestic and international wire transfers, and debit card processing and fraud monitoring.
• Manage treasury management operations, including cash management products, positive pay, remote deposit capture, and related commercial banking services.
• Partner with Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Legal teams to ensure operational processes align with regulatory requirements and satisfy examiner and auditor expectations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers and staff, fostering a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce operational risk, and improve turnaround times through process redesign and technology enablement.
• Oversee vendor relationships and core banking system functionality related to deposit, loan, and payments processing.

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, banking, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in bank operations, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or management capacity.
• Strong, demonstrated background in deposit operations and loan operations.
• Hands-on expertise with ACH processing and NACHA rules, domestic and international wire transfers, and debit card program management.
• Experience managing treasury management/cash management operations and related products.
