Salary: $25.67 - $37.26 hourly; $53,598 - $77,798 annually

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and marketing assistance to Minnesota businesses seeking to sell products and services to federal, state, and local government entities.
  • Identify market opportunities, assist with registrations, ensure contracting regulations/compliance, and deliver ongoing technical support for government contracts.
  • Advise clients on market opportunities and assist with preparation and submission of applications, certifications, and registrations necessary to do business with government entities.
  • Assist in developing and recommending marketing or business strategies to increase government sales; help businesses initiate or expand government sales and assess current market position and capabilities.
  • Navigate and apply provisions of Minnesota Statutes Ch. 16C.16 related to targeted groups (small, minority, veteran, women, disadvantaged businesses).
Minimum Qualifications
  • One (1) year of experience in legal, business, diversity, or government contract work.
  • Substitution: A Bachelor's degree in information technology, economics, business, or related field may substitute for one year of experience. An Associate's degree may substitute for six months of experience.
  • Strong communication skills to make professional presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to conduct independent research of government marketplace and online government systems (registrations, history, etc.).
  • Ability to learn complex material and create concise curriculum for adult learners.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting data and contract language.
  • Proficiency with PC tools (databases, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work independently and also collaborate within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Corporate or small business experience.
  • Working knowledge of governmental procurement registrations, programs, regulations, processes, administration, and marketing.
  • Ability to obtain certifications through the National APEX Accelerator Alliance (NAPEX), Project Management Professional, and/or Federal Contracts Manager.
  • Experience with Neo Serra (APEX Accelerator reporting system) or similar CRM; familiarity with SAM, Certify, SBA.gov, etc.
  • Ability to navigate Woman Owned, Minority Owned, and Veteran Owned Small Business requirements and certification.
  • Knowledge of small business operations, including financing, insurance, bonding, and market analysis.
  • Experience working with people from varied cultural backgrounds and for whom English may be a second language.
