** This posting will be used to fill two (2) vacancies - one (1) archaeologist and one (1) architectural historian. Selected finalists will be determined based on qualifications met. Both positions will work 32 hours/week (.80 FTE). These positions are mostly funded through an ongoing agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation.*

The team draws on cooperative approaches and expertise to help individuals and communities at all levels of planning, development, and government to achieve their historic preservation goals and responsibilities under law.
We are seeking two (2) Transportation Liaisons to manage and conduct SHPO's review of transportation projects that receive federal or state funding or permitting from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). This includes reviewing property identification and evaluations, determinations of eligibility for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, reviewing of effects to historic properties, preservation planning initiatives, and preparing responses on undertakings submitted for review by the MnDOT Cultural Resources Unit (MnDOT CRU).
Transportation Liaison work involves collaboration with MnDOT CRU's staff and consultants, MnDOT offices and districts, FHWA staff, other federal and state agencies involved in transportation project reviews, local agencies, Tribal Historic Preservation Officers (THPOs), and members of the public. Duties are part of the Federal historic preservation program created by the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, and applicable sections of Minnesota Statutes Chapter 138 (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).)

This position is eligible for up to a 50% hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework arrangement, additional onsite attendance may be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. In addition, traveling of up to 5%, including overnight stays, will be required to meet with stakeholders, partners, and customers at their preferred location(s) and/or project sites. Actual overnight travel is adjustable based on service needs.
** Minimum Qualifications*

** Archaeology:
** Graduate degree in archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field PLUS:
+ At least one (1) year of full-time professional experience or equivalent specialized training in archaeological research, administration, or management.
+ At least four (4) months of supervised field and analytic experience in general North American archaeology.
+ Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion.
