This position oversees the emergency management activities throughout the State Capitol Area Complex. This includes assessing risk, planning, training, threat and emergency exercising, and coordinating with complex tenants and other jurisdictions so that resources are utilized to the fullest extent. When an incident occurs, this position assists implementing the plans and procedures while collaborating with other response organizations.

** Minimum Qualifications*
* Three* (3) years of experience developing, implementing and coordinating emergency management, homeland security, business continuity, public safety or related preparedness programs.
Experience must demonstrate:
+ Experience developing, maintaining, and evaluating emergency operations plans, continuity plans, hazard analysis, threat assessments, risk assessments, or standard operating procedures.
+ Experience planning and/or executing emergency preparedness training, drills, exercises, or incident response activities.
+ Experience collaborating with multiple agencies or organizations to coordinate emergency preparedness, emergency response, or public safety initiatives.
+ Knowledge of federal, state, and local emergency management laws, regulations, policies, and best practices sufficient to develop and administer emergency managment programs.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills sufficient to present information, develop reports and emergency planning documents, and communicate effectively with executive leadership, government partners, and stakeholders.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products;
Effective database management skills.
+ Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities
Must sucessfully complete Basic Emergency Management Academy through Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HSEM) within two (2) years of hire.

* Bachelors degree in emergency management, homeland security, public administration, criminal justice, public safety, or closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience._
