The Grants Operations Coordinator leads the Department of Public Safety's (DPS) grants operations by coordinating the work of the agency's six grantmaking divisions to ensure grant programs are administered effectively and in compliance with state and federal grants management policies and procedures.
This position provides operational oversight of DPS's two grants management systems, which support the full grant lifecycle across all grantmaking divisions.
The Grants Operations Coordinator will manage DPS's Capital Grants Program, a complex statewide grant program that involves general funds and general obligation bonds with specific statutory requirements. The Grant Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing the full life cycle of these grants, which often span multiple years and require ongoing oversight even after the grant has closed.
The Department of Public Safety is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment. DPS does not participate in E-Verify.
** Minimum Qualifications*
* 1. Four (4) years of grants or program management experience.
* A Bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of the experience requirement. An Associate's degree may substitute for six months of experience.
Experience must include all of the following:
+ Interpreting and applying state and/or federal grants, policies, procedures, and laws to grant programs
+ Overseeing the development and administration of grant program(s)
+ Implementing and utilizing a grants management system
+ Analyzing information and data to identify and develop solutions to complex issues
2. Strong writing, communication, and human relations skills to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues, partners, and customer groups.
3. Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.
