Job SummaryThe Minnesota Secure Choice Retirement Program (SCRP) is a newly established state initiative designed to expand retirement savings access for private sector employees across Minnesota.
This position serves as the lead compliance and program integrity professional for the Minnesota Secure Choice Retirement Program. It oversees compliance operations, employer monitoring, risk management, audit coordination, vendor oversight, and enforcement activities. The role guides compliance staff, sets priorities and standards, coordinates workflows, and ensures consistent application of Program policies. It also manages employer pre‑enforcement and enforcement processes related to statutory requirements and supports the Executive Director in developing compliance frameworks, corrective action procedures, and escalation protocols.
The position reports directly to the Executive Director and functions as the Program’s primary resource for operational compliance and enforcement.
Telework:
This position is eligible for up to a 50% hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework agreement, onsite attendance will be required for team meetings or as requested by management to meet business needs. Completion of a telework agreement will be required. Two (2) years of experience in compliance oversight, regulatory requirement management, retirement plan administration, financial services regulation, auditing, internal controls, risk management, or program integrity/enforcement operations.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, contracts, or operational procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct compliance reviews, operational monitoring, audit coordination, investigations, reconciliations, or program oversight activities.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills sufficient to identify operational risks, compliance deficiencies, and process improvement opportunities.
- Written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and prepare professional written communications, reports, policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, workflows, or operational activities independently.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and reporting or tracking systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance, law, compliance, legal studies, or a closely related field is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a government‑sponsored retirement program, public pension system, deferred compensation plan, IRA administration, or regulated financial services environment.
- Experience administering or supporting compliance programs involving employer participation, payroll reporting, contribution processing, or financial transaction oversight.
