EEG Specialist III

We are hiring for an EEG Specialist III to join our Neurodiagnostic team! This is a .7 FTE, Tuesday – Friday; 7-hour shift 5am – 12:30pm (28 hours/week) with on call requirements:
Friday afternoon to Monday morning, once every 10 weeks. Benefit eligible opportunity.

The EEG Specialist III is an experienced allied health professional who holds R. EEG T. + CLTM credentials, with at least seven years of experience in neurodiagnostics performing EEGs and monitoring video EEG (vEEG/LTM) after obtaining R. EEG T. Advanced technologists in this role can work independently and are looked upon to be preceptors/mentors for other technologists.

Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams.

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $33.75 to $50.61, with a median wage of $42.18. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Provides patient and family focused care that results in high quality diagnostic testing procedures and results.

• Conducts tests appropriate to the patient’s medical history, current complaints, and reason for referral.
• Analyzes the patient’s test data during the recording, altering testing procedures as needed to obtain complete, valid and interpretable data.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.
• Demonstrated skills in time management, prioritization and communication

Provides service to patients, families and colleagues that are professional, timely, responsive, courteous, and positive.

• Collaborates effectively to organize services to meet needs of patients.
• Delegates and provides care based on the abilities and limitations of care personnel and patient acuity.

Understands and participates in departmental and hospital-based QI processes.

Demonstrate engagement through participation in and attention to the work of the unit/department/practice site initiatives

Follows procedures and policies.

• Protects confidentiality of personal health information.

Collaborates effectively and positively with colleagues and other medical staff.

• Registration in EEG (R. EEG T.) by ABRET – Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation
• Certification in Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) by ABRET – Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation
• At least seven years of experience in EEG after obtaining R. EEG T.
• Completion of the EMU Caring course through the American Epilepsy Society (AES)
• Completion of Gillette internal preceptor training
• High school Diploma/GED
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain to in 90 days)

• Graduate of an accredited neurodiagnostics program
• IOM experience
• Experience working with pediatrics and patients with disabilities.
