Senior Clinical Research & Program Management Specialist About the Job

The University of Minnesota Translational Center for Resuscitative Trauma Care (TCRTC) seeks a motivated Project Management Specialist to start as soon as possible. The Center is a translational research and educational center dedicated to trauma and critically ill patients that advances biologic discovery, develops novel treatments for hemorrhage and organ failure, and educates providers across the spectrum of care-from austere environments to definitive care.

Reporting to the Center Director and the Executive Director, this position provides project management for Center projects. The role requires independent decision-making on a daily basis and the ability to appropriately exercise discretion on when to elevate issues to Center leadership.

This is a permanent, 100% percent full-time, (40 hours per week) position working in a hybrid working environment. The Senior Clinical Research & Program Management Specialist will be responsible for project management, including day-to-day activities, problem-solving, reporting on progress and outcomes, and financial oversight for TCRTC programs and projects.

• Direct the strategic management of physical resources, policies and procedures, and personnel to support faculty and staff to ensure that activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner, while fostering ongoing relationships
• Ensure that all aspects of program adhere to all institutional, state, and federal regulations
• Direct program spending and personnel effort
• Create and disseminate communications
• Lead and contribute to program evaluation
• Collaboratively develop and implement a strategic plan for interdisciplinary research and proposals
• Serve as the primary point-person for state-wide hospital systems
• Identify strategic funding and research opportunities
• Serve as the primary advisor and point-person for senior leadership
• Proactively identify gaps and risks in project performance
• Independently design and propose risk‑based solutions to resolve complex, ambiguous issues without close oversight

• Direct the strategic management of physical resources, policies and procedures, and personnel to support with faculty and staff to ensure that activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner, while fostering ongoing relationships
• Represent TCRTC across governance bodies (IRB, EMS regional directors, business and industry partners, and the State of Minnesota) to ensure project success
• Direct program spending, project timelines, and personnel effort
• Ensure that all aspects of program adhere to all institutional, state, and federal regulations
• Create and disseminate UMN related communications
• Serve as a strategic liaison to senior leadership
• Proactively identify and communicate gaps and risks in project performance
• Independently design and propose risk‑based solutions to resolve complex, ambiguous issues without close oversight
• Serve as the primary advisor and point-person for senior leadership and faculty investigators

• Direct the department's research compliance strategy, leading annual and periodic audits and driving process improvements across the participating Centers and Departments to strengthen regulatory adherence, patient safety, data integrity, and staff safety.
