Job Summary
Incumbents in this position are responsible for the decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with department and infection control policies. The role requires maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring sterility and integrity of instruments, and adhering to established procedures and safety initiatives. Active engagement in department responsibilities and mentoring new employees is also expected.
Required Qualifications
- Certification as a Registered Certified Central Services Technician or must obtain within one year of hire.
- Ability to work well with children and adults; interest in working with children and adolescents with disabilities.
- Physically able to work required hours and lift heavy instrument sets, including off-premise call hours.
- Customer service focused.
- At least one year of prior experience as a central services technician.
- Knowledge of the principles of decontamination/sterilization.
Must have Certified Central Services Technician Registration to be considered for this role.
