Salary: $87,000 - $100,000 per year.
We are a global organization, operating through multiple distinct business units. This role supports a single business unit of approximately 1,500 employees. The organization is undergoing a system transformation and is investing in growth and strengthening payroll operations at the operating company level. Accuracy, compliance, and credibility are essential as this team works to rebuild trust and consistency. Payroll is processed in-house and includes both union and non‑union populations across multiple states.

This is a high‑visibility Payroll Specialist role focused on in‑house, multi‑state payroll processing with a strong emphasis on New England compliance (NY, NJ, CT, and surrounding states). The position is currently structured as a long‑term contract, with the potential to convert to permanent status in the future. On the contract side, you receive platinum benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and sick time).
Responsibilities- Process in-house payroll for approximately 1,500 employees
- Support both union and non‑union payroll populations
- Ensure compliance with New England payroll laws and regulations
- Review and enter W‑4 forms and identify inaccuracies
- Partner with internal teams during system transition
- Operate independently using established SOPs
- Serve as one of three payroll team members working collaboratively
- Proven in‑house, multi‑state payroll processing experience
- Strong working knowledge of New England payroll compliance (NY, NJ, CT, etc.)
- Union payroll exposure helpful
- High technical proficiency, including strong Excel skills
- Comfortable working independently from SOPs with minimal oversight
- Strong follow‑up, follow‑through, and attention to detail
- Experience with UKG is a plus
