Payroll Specialist

Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll operations for a large organization in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.

This role offers an opportunity to work within the government sector and manage complex payroll functions.

Responsibilities:

- Manage full-cycle payroll operations, including bi-monthly payroll processing for over 500 employees.

- Administer payroll for multi-state operations, ensuring compliance with varying state regulations.

- Oversee union payroll processes, including handling union dues and contracts.

- Utilize ADP Workforce Now to streamline payroll functions and maintain employee records.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including regulations related to Family Medical Leave.

- Address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.

- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting and alignment with organizational goals.

- Conduct audits of payroll processes and records to identify and correct errors.

- Implement improvements to payroll systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

- Provide training and support to payroll staff as needed.

Requirements - Proven experience managing full-cycle payroll operations for large organizations.

- Expertise in multi-state payroll processes and compliance.

- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.

- Familiarity with union contracts and dues handling.

- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, including Family Medical Leave policies.

- Ability to process payroll for over 500 employees accurately and efficiently.

- Excellent problem-solving skills to address payroll discrepancies.

- Strong communication and organizational abilities to collaborate across teams.
