As a HR Operations Specialist, you'll be part of a collaborative team of seven, providing advanced administrative and technical expertise that keeps our HR operations running seamlessly. This job helps with many different employee tasks, including entering employee information, answering questions about benefits and retirement, and helping employees understand union contracts and pay plans. The job also gives general support to the HR team, creates reports using different computer programs, and presents new employee orientation. This position also helps the leave coordinator when needed and serves as the Designated Department Insurance Representative (DDIR).

Telework ()  options for this position are dependent on where the employee lives. With approval, employees that live within 50 miles from the primary work location may telework up to 50%. Employees that live 50 miles or more from the primary location  
** and live in Minnesota
** may telework more than 50% with approval.

** Minimum Qualifications*

+ Two years of experience processing human resources or payroll transactions in a Human Resources information system.

Experience must include:

+  Applying federal, state, and employment law, personnel rules, policies, and procedures as it pertains to employee transactions, benefits, and/or payroll

+  
** Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate administrative and technical support to a variety of audiences*
* +  Database management, electronic spreadsheets, and word processing software sufficient to track and analyze HR data, create spreadsheets and reports, and draft correspondence

+ Knowledge of and ability to understand how HRIS transactions affect employee benefits, taxes, pay, etc.

+ Communication skills sufficient to relay sensitive and personal information in person, via email and in a variety of documents such as memos, letters, and forms

+ Demonstrated respect for diversity and a deep commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment

An associate's degree in human resources or business administration may substitute for six (6) months experience and a bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
