The Classification Services Supervisor provides operational leadership for the Department of Human Services' classification program by directing the day-to-day administration of classification, organizational analysis, position management, and related compensation activities. Supervise professional classification staff and establish work plans, priorities, and quality standards that align with agency human resources strategic priorities while ensuring timely, consistent, equitable, and legally compliant classification services.
This individual serves as the principal operational advisor to managers, supervisors, and HR partners regarding classification processes, organizational design, job evaluation, position management, and related staffing matters. This role works to build collaborative partnerships across the Human Resources Office to integrate classification services with recruitment, workforce planning, labor relations, transactions, and compensation.

** Minimum Qualifications*

* Demonstrated leadership experience. Leadership experience can include:
+ Experience as a supervisor, lead worker, team lead, project lead;
+ Completion of a State of Minnesota leadership program (e.g. ELI, L4);
+ A paid/unpaid position leading a program or chairing a committee
+ (e.g. ERG) - Experience must include:
+ 1+ year of experience identifying issues, goals and strategic actions
+ 100+ hours per year time commitment
** AND*
* Four (4) years of work experience in Human Resources conducting formal job analysis and classification for a diverse mix of positions - spanning technical, professional, supervisory, and managerial levels, and making final decisions and recommendations on job classification.
All applicants must minimally meet these additional required qualifications:
+ Knowledge of public sector human resources principles and practices, including classification, compensation, recruitment, selection, workforce planning, organizational analysis, and staffing processes sufficient to provide leadership and guidance within a complex state agency environment.
+ Advanced knowledge of job evaluation principles, organizational analysis, job design, classification structures, and position management practices sufficient to oversee classification operations and advise managers on organizational and staffing decisions.
+ Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices sufficient to lead, develop, coach, and evaluate professional human resources staff.
+ Skill in communicating complex human resources concepts clearly and effectively through written, verbal, and presentation formats.
