The Outreach and Engagement Coordinator supports CCMI’s external engagement efforts, including recruitment, outreach, communications, and development. This position collaborates with the Talent and Engagement team to recruit and engage a diverse pool of youth and young adults for program opportunities through strategic recruitment planning, outreach activities, and applicant screening. It also provides support to the communications and development team to increase public visibility and support through community engagement, events, and communications.
Key Responsibilities- Represent CCMI at public events, job and career fairs, conferences, and community meetings to promote programs and recruit participants.
- Support and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and community organizations to strengthen recruitment pipelines.
- Assist in diversifying applicant sources through websites, job boards, networking, community partnerships, social media, and other external platforms.
- Manage job and position postings on external websites and recruitment platforms.
- Collaborate with hiring managers: draft position descriptions, screen applicants, and support hiring/onboarding processes.
- Serve as lead staff for Paycom, the organizational application tracking system, building and monitoring job requisitions and applicant communications.
- Provide timely communication and accurate messaging to applicants, ensuring a positive experience and facilitating information sessions.
- Track recruitment efforts and use data to evaluate, suggest, and monitor improvements.
- Identify and build new community connections to expand CCMI’s presence.
- Maintain updated contact information for current participants/members and alumni, and identify alumni engagement opportunities.
- Draft, send, and manage email communications through Mailchimp, including the monthly newsletter and recruitment updates.
- Collaborate with the communications team to create content for social media, website/blogs, and newsletters to increase visibility of CCMI’s mission.
- Coordinate and support organizational events, such as community outreach, alumni, and fundraising events, fostering continued connection to the community.
- Facilitate CCMI engagement at the MN State Fair, handling schedules, giveaway items, booth setup/tear‑down, and volunteer recruitment.
- Manage inventory of branded swag items and serve as point of contact for ordering.
- Provide administrative support to the communications and development teams, including mailings and donor acknowledgements.
- High‑school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of professional work experience.
- Excellent communication and creative problem‑solving skills.
- Outgoing, self‑starter, comfortable speaking on behalf of CCMI with external audiences.
- Proven ability to work effectively with and communicate to individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities.
- Willingness to travel regionally for outreach activities, job fairs, events, and partner meetings. Valid driver’s license with at least three years of clean driving record.
- Familiarity with Ameri Corps or other national service programs is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Salesforce, web‑based recruitment tools, applicant tracking/CRM systems.
Some evening and weekend work, as well as overnight travel, may be required to attend recruitment and outreach events, job fairs, member orientation, partner meetings, and other CCMI events.
