Human Resources

Human Resources is a department within the Regional Administration division of the Metropolitan Council, which provides enterprise-wide proactive solutions for the Council's workforce needs in the areas of recruitment, labor relations, benefits, training, organizational development, occupational health, and wellness.

How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides technical support in managing core employee processes and compliance efforts, and serves as a dependable point of contact for workforce needs. Supports HR processes to include, but not limited to, employee onboarding, employee records and personnel files, HR systems transactions and administration for the Talent Management team.

Note:

This position is eligible for a hybrid (remote and onsite) telework arrangement. The candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

This posting will create a 6-month eligibility list for current and future openings.

Full Salary Range: $33.71 - $54.71 hourly / $70,117 - $113,797 yearly

Anticipated Salary Range: $34.56 - $43.27 hourly / $71,885 - $90,001.60 yearly

  • Prepare and electronically distribute job postings; post positions on selected websites or publications; research specialized websites.
  • Create work instructions for complex or specialized functions.
  • Monitor and track budgets and expenditures. Prepare purchase requisitions and track approval processes for various purchase orders, verify and pay requests, invoices, and order procurement and contract administration documents.
  • Research, compile, and analyze data/information; prepare statistics and reports using Excel, People Soft, PowerPoint, and other software systems; prepare presentation documents for meetings.
  • Maintain document management system of electronic letters and forms; keep informed of changes or modifications to databases and software and make recommendations when appropriate.
  • Make complex scheduling arrangements involving multiple parties and securing rooms as needed under minimal direction. Adjust meetings as requested.
  • Analyze, triage, and respond to Talent Management inquiries, or route requests to the appropriate HR contact and track follow-ups to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain applicant tracking system.
  • Assist TM staff in recruitment processes such as contacting candidates, preparing and distributing necessary materials, scheduling pre-employment tests, initiating background checks, etc.
  • Coordinate requests for temporary staffing service through contracted agencies.
  • Process employee data and position changes, voluntary and involuntary terminations, reinstatements, and table changes in HRIS system. Research and resolve problems.
  • Develop and generate standard reports/queries as requested.
  • Administer New Employee Orientation paperwork. Collect and process new hire paperwork.
  • Respond to both internal and external inquiries about the employment opportunities, application process, employer verifications, and other inquiries.
  • Establish and maintain employee personnel files, I-9 files, and recruitment files. Ensure personnel files have the required new hire documentation and I-9 documentation is complete for each employee.
  • Assists with other duties and special projects as assigned.

Any of the following combinations of administrative support experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, or a closely related field and completed education (field of study in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field):

  • High school diploma or GED and 5 years of experience.
  • Associate's degree and 3 years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience.
