* PERA is seeking an experienced benefits professional to help members navigate some of the most important and complex decisions affecting their financial well-being. This position serves as a key resource in the administration of disability retirement benefits, ensuring members receive accurate information, timely service, and benefits administered in accordance with governing laws and policies.
Working independently and collaboratively, you will manage disability benefit cases, review supporting documentation, verify eligibility requirements, perform financial calculations, administer benefit offsets, and monitor continuing eligibility for disability payments. You will apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze complex situations, interpret statutes and policies, and develop recommendations that support accurate and equitable outcomes.
As a recognized resource for disability benefits expertise, you will respond to complex inquiries, assist members and employers in understanding benefit provisions, support annual earnings review processes, and deliver educational information regarding PERA benefits. You will communicate complex retirement concepts to diverse audiences while fostering positive relationships built on professionalism, respect, and responsiveness.
In addition to case administration, you will contribute to program development by identifying opportunities for improvement, researching innovative solutions, and recommending enhancements to procedures, policies, and statutory provisions that strengthen service delivery and program effectiveness.

This position is telework eligible and offers a hybrid work schedule, based on agency and department needs. Scheduled in-office workdays will be at the PERA office, 60 Empire Drive, Suite 200, St. Paul, Minnesota.

** Minimum Qualifications*
