_THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE TO TELEWORK UP TO ONE (1) DAY A WEEK, DEPENDING UPON THE NEEDS OF THE OFFICE._

_To provide human resources administrative services in the areas of employee transactions, front desk operations, electronic filing systems, data requests, purchasing and procurement, employee service awards, back grounding, and assisting department operations._

_This position will have access to bargaining materials as defined in M.S. 13.37, Subd.
1c and will assist in the research of employee transactions, benefits, and other related employee programs, insurance, and benefits._

** _Data Practices:_
** _This position will have access to data that is not public. Not public data must only be accessed as needed to perform job requirements. Not public data must be secured so it cannot be accessed by anyone without a job-required reason. Suspected data breaches must be immediately reported to a supervisor._

_The Department of Public Safety is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment. DPS does not participate in E-Verify._

** Minimum Qualifications*
* + Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to a variety of customers (staff, visitors and the general public), in person, over the phone and via email. Communication skills sufficient to respond to inquiries on a wide variety of Human Resources related questions with the ability to direct calls to appropriate staff members.

+ Ability to read source documents and enter data in HRIS databases or tracking systems; accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data

+ Word processing skills sufficient to prepare and modify memos, letters, and reports that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors.

+ Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate effectively with a variety of customers, including new hires, employees, leadership and external stakeholders. Ability to exhibit professionalism, courtesy and tact.

+ Ability to explain laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures to clients, coworkers, and customers.

+ Ability to work with labor contract/plans and data practices rules, regulations and procedures.

** Preferred Qualifications*
* + Experience in office organization and coordination (including establishing and maintaining systems and processes).

+

Experience with data privacy rules, policies and procedures in order to comply with Public Safety, Human Resources rules and regulations, as well as federal and state laws regarding confidentiality of data.

+ Experience using SEMA

+ Working knowledge and experience with various collective bargaining agreements or plans, rules, and laws (i.e., Affirmative Action and Data Practices); policies and procedures that affect Human Resources.

+ Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.
