As the Director of Enterprise Operational Platforms and Automation at Minnesota IT Services (MNIT), you will lead the charge in transforming how we deliver reliable, efficient, and intelligent IT services across the enterprise.
In this strategic leadership role, you’ll design and implement cutting‑edge operational platforms and automation capabilities, spanning observability, monitoring integration, workflow automation, enterprise integration (iPaaS), and AI‑driven operational intelligence. Your work will directly enhance service reliability, accelerate incident response, and drive innovation across a complex statewide technology ecosystem.
You’ll collaborate with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to set standards, mature enterprise capabilities, and ensure alignment with governance and security frameworks. As these services grow, you’ll build and lead a high‑performing team, manage budgets and vendor partnerships, and champion initiatives that deliver measurable value and efficiency.

This position requires an employee to be onsite at 600 North Robert St. Saint Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.
Minimum QualificationsTo qualify, candidates must clearly show all of the following qualifications in their resume. Resume tips available here:
Position requires a minimum of six (6) years of experience in enterprise IT operations leadership, including responsibility for delivering or supporting enterprise IT operations, infrastructure, end‑user services, or shared technology services in a large complex organization.
Experience must include:
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience, including team leadership, performance management, and workforce development.
- Experience working across multiple teams, departments, or organizational units to deliver shared technology services or enterprise initiatives.
- Experience building, implementing, or improving operational processes, technology service, or enterprise capabilities in environments with evolving needs and competing priorities.
