The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for standing up and maintaining AWS infrastructure supporting all aspects of PLM software implementation to meet customer required security, functionality, and performance requirements on all Production and non-Production environments. They are responsible for installing application software including updates and patches, performing upgrades, and applying application security updates. This resource is also responsible for performance tuning and scaling implementations into containerized solutions, automating workloads with Ansible playbooks, and driving efficiency in the team through the use of emerging cloud-based technology and automation tools.

This role involves supporting PLM application development projects for DoD customers. The ideal candidate has 5 to 8 years of experience in AWS infrastructure set‑up and maintenance on both Red‑Hat Linux & Windows environments. The ideal candidate must also hold relevant AWS certifications and CompTIA Security+. They must have the ability to work independently and have demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

This candidate must have a propensity and excitement for learning new applications in the PLM space.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and security requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Plan, Implement, and Refine cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) with a mind for performance, scalability, and cost savings, including evaluation of switch from monolithic to cluster, establishment of a load balancer, and backup/recovery plans.
• Utilize Ansible playbooks for automation, and secure applications with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), managing TLS/SSL certificates, and enforcing secure authentication mechanisms.

  SQL databases, including initial data seeding, schema configurations, running scripts, query execution for troubleshooting, and optimizing database performance for application-specific needs.
• Install and perform upgrades of PLM application software, applying critical patch sets, and fixing security vulnerabilities on a regular basis with all infrastructure and applications included in the technical stack.
• Oversee hosts/data refreshes on non-production environments as needed.
• Conduct comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, and system testing ensuring application infrastructure and performance is maintained.
• Oversee the debugging and resolution of complex application/customization defects and issues that may require performance and infrastructure related investigations and solutions.
