Director of Engineering

Location:

Remote/Occasional travel to MN as needed

Duration: 6-month contract-for-hire

Seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead the technology strategy and delivery for Account & Portfolio Management platforms supporting financial product data, wealth management transactions, and investment management capabilities.

This leader will drive modernization efforts, partner closely with business and technology stakeholders, and build high‑performing engineering teams focused on scalable, customer‑centric solutions.

• Lead engineering strategy, architecture, and platform modernization initiatives
• Guide teams in designing and delivering scalable software solutions
• Champion modern engineering practices including Dev Ops, observability, and continuous improvement
• Partner with product and business leaders to align technology with strategic outcomes
• Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering managers and technical talent
• Manage vendor relationships and enterprise technology decisions
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and innovation‑focused engineering culture

• 10+ years of IT leadership experience, including 5+ years managing engineering teams
• Strong background leading large‑scale technology initiatives
• Experience with enterprise platforms, reporting/analytics, and data services
• Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive cross‑functional collaboration
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (MBA preferred)
• Financial services industry experience preferred

The projected conversion salary range for this position is $174-236k + bonus.
