OverviewThe position of Student Cyber Security Operations Center (SOC) Support within the McCrary Institute for Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Security is responsible for supporting the Alabama Cybersecurity Intelligence Center (ACIC) which provides managed cybersecurity services for multiple entities in detection and responding to security related events. This position will support daily security operations by leveraging relevant tools, technologies, processes, and procedures to ensure the safe and secure operation of networks and support response to information security related incidents and alerts.
Responsibilities- Monitor security events, alerts, and logs from various security systems
- Investigate and triage security incidents to determine severity, scope, and impact
- Follow established incident response procedures and playbooks to mitigate and resolve incidents in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation related to security event analysis, actions taken, and resolutions for each event
- Other duties as assigned
Enrolled student at Auburn University
- Auburn University undergraduate student in good standing
- Must be a U.S. citizen
