Senior IT Business Analyst

The Senior IT Business Analyst is a member of the IT organization reporting under the VP/Director of Application Service Delivery. Under limited direction, this position is responsible to document business requirements, perform problem analysis and support changes to existing business processes for four or more business areas. Ability to manage small-size projects (up to 150 hours of effort) including scope, schedule, resources, cost, and risks.

Prepare and present information to peers.

• Obtain a deep understanding of four or more business area(s) to be able to recommend solutions and build high-quality requirements.
• Assist facilitation to understand business requirements with a variety of techniques such as interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards.
• Shape business requirements by assisting in recommendations and participating in alternatives to proposed solutions.
• Translate conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements.
• Work with business and delivery teams to prioritize requirements.
• Manage requirements scoping throughout the delivery process.
• Create and validate artifacts as appropriate, including business case documentation, scope documentation, and process flows.
• Support delivery teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutions.
• Review delivery team output to ensure requirements are correctly interpreted; define and execute test cases.
• Identify and assist in prioritizing opportunities to streamline business processes.
• Collaborate to develop test cases and scripts for defined business requirements.
• Complete testing in the agreed upon timelines and deadlines.
• Execute all test cases and report defects, define severity and priority for each.
• Provide support through assigned tasks to assist in resolving issues identified by business users including after hours if necessary.
• Collaborate to implement solutions.
• Project support and project management for smaller efforts.
• Experience determining the explicit and implicit needs and requirements of various stakeholders.
• Ability to quickly learn the objectives, structures, operations, and policies of a new business area.
• Strong problem resolution, and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
• Experience creating documentation such as business case documentation or business requirements summaries.
• Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and agile planning tools such as Jira.
• Standards and best practices, requirements gathering and documentation, business acumen, problem solving, participate in solution design, technical expertise

• 6-7 years of proven experience in a Business Analyst role
• 1.) College graduate with a B.S./B.A. in Information Systems or equivalent 6-10 years experience 2.) M.B.A. or M.S. in computer related field a plus.

The expected pay range for this role is $79,635.48 - $. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
