Create architectural frameworks for IT systems supporting Med Surg (wound care and surgical solutions), Dental Solutions (oral health products), Health Information Systems (clinical software), and Purification & Filtration (biopharma and medical filtration), ensuring interoperability and compliance with healthcare standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR). - Transition Oversight:
Lead the migration of IT infrastructure from shared systems to independent environment, minimizing disruptions to operations and customer relationships during the multi-year disentanglement process. - Technology Innovation:
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI, cloud computing, data analytics) to enhance portfolio, such as improving Health Information Systems used in over 75% of U.S. hospitals or advancing purification membranes for 25 million annual dialysis treatments. - Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Partner with business leaders, including segment presidents and R&D teams, to align IT capabilities with market demands and repositioning for profitable growth. - Governance & Standards:
Establish architecture policies and standards to ensure consistency, scalability, and cybersecurity across global operations, spanning 90+ countries and 100,000+ channel partners. - Risk Mitigation:
Identify and address risks related to IT separation, legacy system dependencies, and healthcare-specific regulatory requirements, collaborating with legal and compliance teams. - Documentation & Advocacy:
Produce detailed architectural documentation and communicate strategies to technical teams, executives, and the board (chaired by Carrie Cox) to secure buy-in and resources.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field;
Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CISSP) strongly preferred.
Experience:
8+ years in IT, with 4+ years in enterprise architecture, preferably in healthcare, medtech, or a spinoff/transition environment. Experience with large-scale system migrations is a plus.
Technical
Skills:
- Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF).
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid IT environments, critical for standalone transition.
