Telework options for this position are dependent on where the employee lives. The primary work location for this position is 443 Lafayette Road N, St. Paul, MN.

  • Employees living within 50 miles of the primary work location will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month.
  • Employees that live in Minnesota and are more than 50 miles from the primary work location may be eligible for more than 50% telework with agency approvals.
  • Employees may reside outside of the state of Minnesota if they live in a bordering state and are within 50 miles of the primary work location.

The incumbent for this position will focus on the implementation and improvement of electronic data interchange (EDI) functionality and standards for Workers’ Compensation to address data quality.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as an EDI expert
  • Define data quality issues and opportunities
  • Propose changes to standards and the system
  • Implement changes to processes to improve data quality of Work Comp Campus
  • Work closely with the EDI team and supervisor and with external stakeholders of EDI
  • Represent the department by being a point of contact and expert in EDI standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years professional experience
* in the field of electronic data interchange (EDI).

Individuals who meet the above experiential requirement will be further evaluated on:

1. Ability to establish and implement data quality processes and standards.

2. Ability to map EDI data and maintain databases structured via EDI reporting.

3. Ability to plan and execute EDI related testing activities.

4. Ability to establish and implement system‑wide approach to entity management.

5. Experience using structured query tools like SQL.

* Master’s degree may substitute for 18 months of experience;
Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience;
Associates degree may substitute for six months of experience

  • Communication skills, verbal and written, sufficient to instruct, collaborate, inform and interact with diverse internal and external stakeholders in person, over the phone and via email in plain language.
  • Ability to organize and perform effectively; set and manage priorities autonomously and with others within demanding deadlines and changing/fluctuating circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, who do not share your same culture, ethnicity, language, or other common experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation business processes, policies, procedures, statutes and rules.
  • Experience using structured query tools like SQL.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Language skills other than English (Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Karen or ASL).
