Job SummaryMinnesota IT Services (MNIT) is seeking an IT Program Risk Manager to support large, complex, and high‑impact information technology initiatives for the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). This position plays a key role in helping project and program teams successfully deliver transformational IT solutions by leading risk management activities across multiple concurrent initiatives.
In this role, you will work closely with project managers, technical teams, and business partners to identify, analyze, and manage risks that may impact application implementation, system integration, and service delivery. You will develop and maintain risk management plans, facilitate risk assessments, and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of standardized risk management practices. This work will help establish consistent approaches to identifying, assessing, monitoring, and communicating risk across multiple modernization initiatives.
This position operates in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and requires strong communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to influence decision‑making across diverse stakeholder groups. Telework
arrangements and policy updates may be adjusted based on business needs. This position is telework eligible for applicants who reside in Minnesota or in a bordering state, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance. If you live in a state bordering Minnesota, you must live within 50 miles of less from the primary work location to be eligible for telework.
This position is temporary and includes full state fringe benefits; it is anticipated to last one (1) year.

This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT experience in project management, risk management, or application systems implementation.
Experience must include:
- Leading or supporting risk management activities—including risk identification, analysis, mitigation planning, monitoring, and reporting—within IT projects or programs, including experience developing or improving standardized risk management frameworks or practices used across multiple projects or programs.
