Location: St. Paul – hybrid (onsite 2 days a week)

Rate: $62.05-$70.92/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications

Project Overview

The client is replacing the current Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP system), People Soft, with the Workday ERP system. The client implemented its current system in 2000 that contains significant customizations to support internal processes. The client completed a needs assessment of the current system and processes to identify key opportunities for improvement in the new system. Workday was selected after a competitive solicitation process (RFP) was completed.

Project

Objectives
  • Move to a modern, cloud‑based system with improved functionality compared to current systems.
  • Leverage standard functionality and align processes with best practices, when possible, to minimize customizations.
  • Become more efficient in operations and citizen service.
  • Develop integrations between the new ERP system and other internal systems to facilitate efficient data transfers and processes.
In‑Scope
  • Replacement of current People Soft financials modules including procurement.
  • Replacement of current People Soft human capital management modules.
  • Conversion of data from People Soft to Workday.
  • Establishment of system integrations with Workday that are currently used with People Soft.
  • Process improvement where alignment with best practices is required.
  • Organizational Change Management (OCM)-related readiness assessments, change strategies and training.
Out‑of‑Scope
  • Workday modules that are not needed to replace existing functionality.
Training Developer Primary Responsibilities and Deliverables Primary Responsibilities
  • Understands the project drivers, scope, and expected business outcomes.
  • Develops training materials including Instructor Led Training, Web Based Training, micro‑learning, and job aids for Workday.
  • Coordinates and manages all aspects of the training program including training planning, scheduling, logistics, and delivery.
  • Partners with leadership and project teams to design and apply assessment tools that measure training effectiveness, track learning outcomes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Supports the administration and ongoing enhancement of the Learning Management System (LMS), including the creation, maintenance, and organization of training courses and instructional videos.
  • Monitors progress, tracks time, and reports status.
  • Develops and submits status reports.

Mandatory Qualifications
  • B.S. or B.A. degree (4 year) (or Associates degree plus an additional 5 years’ experience)
  • 5+ years experience working with multiple stakeholder groups in a Training Developer role, preferably for Workday or other ERP solution
  • Ability to quickly establish stakeholder trust in a virtual environment
  • Training development and delivery experience
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience as a Training Developer in state, county, or city governments or non‑profit sector
  • Familiarity with Workday Financial and/or Human Capital Management modules
