This position serves our partners at the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). MNIT MnDOT supports an agency with technology integrated into all areas of business. From business intelligence and solutions for critical transportation infrastructure to planning and operating a safe, efficient, and reliable multimodal transportation system, the team connects people and markets across Minnesota.
This position supervises staff within the MNIT DOT Project Management Office (PMO) and provides leadership across multiple service areas including project management, product management, business analysis, resource management, product lifecycle management, contract administration, project and program reporting, quality assurance, and transition to production support.
The Systems Supervisor ensures PMO operations run effectively by overseeing workload distribution, guiding best practices, implementing continuous improvements, managing stakeholder relationships, and aligning resources with business priorities. The position is responsible for hiring, training, evaluation, and development of PMO staff and plays a key role in ensuring that project and product delivery supports agency goals, meets quality standards, and adheres to statewide policies, methodologies, and governance requirements.
In partnership with MnDOT, this role ensures that IT projects, products, and PMO services effectively support MnDOT's business needs by delivering solutions that are reliable, high-quality, and aligned with the agency's strategic priorities and customer expectations.
This position requires an employee to work onsite at 395 John Ireland Blvd, St Paul, Minnesota at least 50% [or more or less if space limitations remain] of the time, with limited telework available. Telework eligibility depends on residence:
- Candidates living in Minnesota or within 50 miles of the worksite in a bordering state (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) may telework up to 50%.
- Minnesota residents living more than 50 miles from the worksite may be eligible to telework more than 50%.
- Candidates living 50 miles or more from the worksite in a bordering state may work onsite 100% or may be telework eligible if relocating within 50 miles.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify, candidates must clearly show all of the following qualifications in their resume:
- Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT experience in a Project Management Office.
- Experience must include:
- Knowledge and experience with contract initiation and management including MNSITE and Requests for Proposals (RFP)
- Knowledge and experience with Project Management methodologies, tools and best practices
- Knowledge and experience with Business Analyst methodologies including requirements gathering, user story development, scoping, functional documentation, or process analysis.
