About The Role

Our staffing firm is partnering with a well‑established third‑party logistics (3PL) provider in St. Paul, MN, to hire a Logistics Coordinator to support one of their retail freight teams. This client specializes in coordinating freight movement for large retail customers, working closely with vendors, carriers, and an extensive agent network to keep shipments on schedule and customers satisfied.

Job Description

As a Logistics Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting daily freight operations for the retail team. Your day‑to‑day will involve coordinating freight, entering orders, communicating with customers and vendors, calling stores to set up appointments, working with truckers in the agent network, and creating or receiving shipping documents. With a focus on quality and efficiency, you'll execute tasks in accordance with office and company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Provide shipment information, create orders, activate shipments, build loads, assign loads, schedule appointments, track and trace shipments, enter events, and complete invoicing.
  • Monitor task boards and assigned email accounts to respond promptly to customer and carrier requests.
  • Document events using knowledge gained through SOPs and experience, and follow defined escalation procedures and training when required.
  • Follow through on customer and carrier requests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Escalate questions or requests when necessary.
  • Validate and ensure the accuracy of load data in systems according to company and customer standards.
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned based on team and/or country‑specific requirements.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort asking questions and addressing occasional conflict resolution with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook.
  • Experience with Truck Mate with Trimble or similar transportation management system (TMS) for order entry.
  • Demonstrated prioritization and time‑management skills.
  • Prior work experience requiring high attention to detail and accuracy.
