Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team in the Southeast Metro. This role will be responsible for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of products needed to support business operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and experienced in purchasing within a manufacturing, distribution, or project-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase materials, components, equipment, and supplies to support operational needs.
- Manage supplier relationships and maintain strong partnerships with vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and service objectives.
- Monitor inventory levels and place purchase orders to maintain adequate stock.
- Track open orders and proactively address supply chain issues to minimize disruptions.
- Collaborate with operations, production, engineering, and accounting teams to ensure purchasing requirements are met.
- Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and procurement documentation.
- Evaluate supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and pricing.
- Support new product launches and projects by coordinating material availability and vendor support.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, buying, or supply chain experience.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing, distribution, electronics, or industrial purchasing experience.
- Experience with inventory planning and forecasting.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices and procurement processes.
