Category Manager

The Category Manager serves as the strategic sourcing lead for acquisition integrations involving implantable electronics technologies and is responsible for identifying suppliers and supply chain, while assessing the technical, quality, and commercial risks associated with acquired businesses to make recommendations that support long-term business success. This role works across business units and collaborates with key OEM and component suppliers to represent the unique requirements of implantable electronics, while influencing integration decisions, negotiating commercial agreements, and establishing sustainable supply strategies to ensure product continuity, scalability, and profitability.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as the strategic sourcing representative for post-acquisition integration activities to assure the unique sourcing, reliability, quality, traceability, and lifecycle requirements of electronic products throughout integration planning and execution
  • Assessing supplier, component, manufacturing, and commercial risks associated with acquired products and supply chains; develop mitigation recommendations for integration teams
  • Evaluating supplier networks, contracts, sourcing models, and supply continuity risks to support integration decision-making
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to develop integration roadmaps and long-term supply strategies
  • Building and maintaining relationships with critical OEMs, contract manufacturers, and component suppliers to ensure business continuity and strategic alignment
  • Leading negotiations for supply agreements, quality agreements, pricing, capacity commitments, business continuity provisions, and other commercial arrangements
  • Influencing acquisition and integration stakeholders to proactively address supply chain risks, supplier gaps, and operational challenges
  • Identifying opportunities to improve cost, resiliency, scalability, and overall total cost of ownership across acquired businesses
  • Supporting the transfer and integration of supplier relationships, contracts, and sourcing processes into Boston Scientific systems and governance models
  • Providing thought leadership on implantable electronics supply markets, supplier capabilities, technology trends, and sourcing best practices

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing and supplier management, supply chain, engineering, or operations within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing complex supplier relationships and commercial negotiations
  • Experience with project management and risk assessment

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain operations, engineering, business, or related field
  • Master's degree or professional certification (CPSM, PMP, CPIM, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, or large-scale business integrations
  • Experience with highly regulated products (e.g. implantable, active implantable or Class III medical devices)
  • Experience working with electronics (semiconductor) suppliers, and electronic component supply chains
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive and technical stakeholders

Minimum Salary: $102100

Maximum Salary: $194000
