This position may be eligible for telework for applicants who reside in Minnesota (or a bordering state within 50 miles of the office location). Employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. The MNsure Project Manager leads the Project Management Office with a focus on structure, collaboration, and emotional intelligence. This strategic and visionary leader manages complex, statewide initiatives—even those driven by new health policy legislation—while fostering team engagement and cross-agency coordination. Serving as the primary point of contact for all MNsure projects, the role supports executive leadership and drives performance aligned with MNsure’s mission.
- Manage complex, high-impact projects across the state
- Support the CEO and Executive Team with project planning and execution
- Implement state and federal health policy initiatives
- Foster collaboration across internal teams and external partners (e.g., DHS, MNIT, insurance vendors)
- Promote team cohesion and navigate challenges with empathy and emotional intelligence
- Assist in developing strategic project frameworks within limited resources
- Work directly with MNsure's Business Solutions Officer assisting with the buildout of the project management office, process, and policies
- Five (5) years of progressive career experience in project management, ideally in public sector or healthcare environments
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional projects with statewide or enterprise-level impact
- Experience leading teams and working with executive leadership
A bachelor's degree in business administration, public policy, project management, or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of career experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Expertise in project planning, budgeting, risk management, and performance tracking
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Jira)
- Ability to manage projects with finite resources and deliver innovative solutions
- Possess a demonstrated cultural and emotional intelligence aptitude for working in various organizational styles and environments
